The virtual courses provided through ANDIFES International Virtual Mobility Program - Destination: Brazil, offered by several universities in the country, are now available for application. The Program is an initiative of the National Association of Directors of Federal Brazilian Higher Education Institutions (ANDIFES) through the College of Managers of International Relations of the Federal Brazilian HEIs (CGRIFES). The program aims to offer courses taught in foreign languages to international partners, and to promote Brazilian Federal Public Education abroad, besides disseminating aspects of Brazilian culture internationally.

Overall, 103 courses will be offered by 42 institutions. The courses will happen in synchronous, asynchronous, and hybrid modes. All of them will be taught in a foreign language, such as English, Spanish, French, or German. Classes will take place for six consecutive weeks,between July 5th and August 31st, according to the schedule established by the instructor responsible for each course.

UFOP will offer two courses through UFOP Aberta platform:

Música Brasileña:

  • Language: Spanish.
  • Instructor: Prof. João Fortunato Soares de Quadros Júnior (Department of Music).
  • Date: July 20th to August 24th.
  • Total workload: 30h.
  • Objective: To get to know the musical genres present in the Brazilian culture, especially those that compose the culture of Minas Gerais State.
  • Vacancies: 30.

Brazilian Food "tasted" by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance:

  • Language: English.
  • Instructor: Prof. Marcus Vinícius Cangussu Cardoso (Department of Chemistry).
  • Date: July 6th to August 13th.
  • Total workload: 16h.
  • Objective: To study the composition of foods through magnetic resonance imaging.
  • Vacancies: 40.

Considering that UFOP is offering courses at the Program, all its academic community will be able to participate in ANDIFES International Virtual Mobility Program. Therefore, the courses will be offered to students, faculty, and administrative staff of the international partner universities (70% of the vacancies) and to students, faculty, and administrative staff of Brazilian institutions participating in the Program (30% of the vacancies).
