UFOP International Affairs Office (CAINT) has inaugurated last 14th February, a brand new Internationalization Hall and a Formative Room, located at CAINT’s building.

The room was created to host language classes, such as Portuguese for Foreigners, in addition to receiving videoconferences, academic presentations and to host other activities and actions that strengthens the relationship between the UFOP community to the culture and the international community.

For Prof. Carlos Magno de Souza Paiva, Coordinator of CAINT, "the new space will be not only for CAINT use, but also for the entire UFOP". He emphasizes that we (Team CAINT) hope that the space stimulates the coexistence and integration between people. “We will leave exposed several information materials about agreements and mobility to increase the interest of the students concerning the rich experience that is the international academic mobility”, he added.

Beside the inauguration of the Internationalization Hall, the date was also marked by the graduation of students from the Double Diploma Program, signed between UFOP and Università degli Studi di Palermo (Italy).

In the presence of the Rector Prof. Marcone Jamilson Freitas Souza and Vice-Rector Prof. Célia Maria Fernandes Nunes, the Italians, Giuseppe Coppola and Liborio Tandurella, from the Mechanical Engineering program, received their diplomas and represented four other students of the Management Engineering and Electrical Engineering program who have already returned to their home country.

Were also present: the Dean of Graduation, Prof. Luciano Campos, the Coordinator of Mechanical Engineering Program, Prof. Luis Antônio Bortolaia, the Executive Secretary of CAINT, Jaqueline Schultz, the Coordinator of the Science without Borders Program, Prof. Marco Antônio Moreira de Carvalho, the Coordinator of Languages Without Borders (IsF/UFOP), Prof. Anelise Dutra and the Prof. Daniel Clark Orey, from the Mathematics Education Department.
